04 h.o auto?

Last weekend I drove a 6 speed 03 H.o. and I liked the truck. Today I drove a 04 H.O. Auto 2500 4x4 Quad Shortbed and this thing rocked. I'm decided not to go the 12 valve route and I'm going to get me a new truck in Feb. Will the auto hold up against the H.O. or am I asking for trouble. It's so much easier not shifting and I only tow a bass boat and a jetski so I'm not towing heavy. OH I drove a 4x2 and a 4x4 and the 4x4 was louder than the 4x2. Why is this? I mean the engine was louder. The 4x2 had 12 miles and the 4x4 had 301. I was wondering was it cause it was breaking in some.

It won't even blink at a bass boat or jetski....go with whichever you like better 8)

Might be because floorboard is around by your head when standing by it.

Re:04 h.o auto?

Perhaps the 4x2 was already warmed up and the 4x4 was cold? These H.O.s are more noisy until warm...

The only thing to really consider is how much do you want to bomb in the future. Most guys are reporting few problems stock. Several guys that have bobmbed thier trucks have reported 48re problems already. If you are more comfortable not shifting and more power is either affordable or unwanted I say go with the auto. Good luck with the choice, I spent many hours pondering the same thing.
