In an emergency can I use heating oil for fuel?

You can run it in your 07 5.9 with no problems. I asked this question 2 years ago to the manager of the regoinal fuel distribution center in Springfield, he stated all the home heating fuel oils are LSD (500ppm) died #2 diesel fuel. It even states it on the fuel racks.

I had to run it for a week last year when we had a nasty storm in October. Truck ran fine, and my neighbors relied on my truck to get supplies since gas couldn't be pumped. I just hooked the 12V transfer pump to my truck and fueled it right out of my tank in the basement...Free fuel at the time, had to pay for it later from our heating oil guy, but its a lot cheaper than even off-road diesel here.
