electronic 4wd switch

I was backing my trailer up into its spot in 4lo and when I went to pull forward it stuck in 4lo. Tried shutting truck down but did not help. I am thinking it must be the solenoid that is shot, Any thoughts. Yes I did try the switch.

Not sure if this will work but maybe try putting the transfer case in netrual.. It is the little button you have to push with a paperclip or somthing .. then put it back to 2 hi...

It shifts into and out of low range best if you are slightly rolling...

Do you get a blinking light when you try to shift?

I think the blinking light indicates it is attempting to shift, but either the gears aren't lined up if you are trying to switch high or low range, or there is too much torque between the front and rear end if you are shifting out of 4x4 (or front and rear speeds are too different if trying to shift into 4x4).

Rolling slightly while shifting the range selector helps, and backing up helps disengage 4x4 if things are a bit bound up...

Happened on my wife's.I took & tapped on the solenoid with the handle of a small hammer a few times & it did the trick. Talked to a wrench at the shop & he said that's the 1st thing they do!
