edge ez for my 2500
bad is that it raises rail pressure and reduces tire life greatly. it might also put a pain in your right foot from pressing down so often.
gives you a ton of torque though, and it gave me about 2.5 hand calculated mpg. It is a great box for beginners as you cant go crazy on power levels as the power added isnt too much for the truck to handle.

I've only had mine for three days and can't say enough good things about it. I've decided to leave it on the middle setting for now because I don't have gauges or my Airdog installed yet. It's like adding a Cam, Headers, Intake, and 4 barrell carb to a gas engine, but it only took 5 minutes to hook up. I actually think it took longer to open the hood and put the fender cover on then it took to hook up the EZ. I'm afraid after a couple weeks it won't be enough though
I thought my stock truck felt fast for a couple of months. Even after only three days, if I took the EZ off now, I would probably be driving around thinking my truck was running on 4 cylinders.

I've had an EZ on the truck almost since new and never gone past L1. Since I have less than 10k miles, the truck is still not broken if (if there really is such a thing). Here's what I can share from experience:
1. The truck will accelerate better with than without the chip. I'm guessing this has to do with a different timing/fueling curve.
2. Economy seems to be somewhat better than without the chip. Winter fuel with local stop & go conditions will seldom knock me below 16 mpg. A 50 mile trip on rural highway with a bit of interstate just returned over 21 mpg. This compares favorably with my old '99 and does so with much more power and much less noise. Summer blend will do better.
3. I haven't suffered from poor economy as have others, nor do I have reason to get the truck re-flashed. EZ or just lucky? I don't know. All I know is that the worries of poor economy haven't roosted under my hood.
4. Overhead is/was unaffected by the EZ at L1. I gave up hand calculating as it's spot on time after time.
5. Added fuel and added boost mean added air. Check your filter gauge because the CTD will attempt to ingest the filter if you're not careful. (Read this as a warning to get a better filter.)
Gauges??? You'd better consider them if you're going to work the vehicle.
I don't try to impress others as a rule. I don't need to. As with all of us, there are times that try the soul... And that makes the EZ worth every cent I paid. A puff of black smoke and "Hang on Irene!". Perhaps my truck would do the same without the EZ, but it does the trick so easily with... And the guy in the big-block gasser that was strutting his stuff will be somewhere behind wondering what's wrong with this picture.
Tires? If you're used to a gasser, then you'll grind the tires off a diesel with or without bombing the truck. I did it on my first '91 CTD auto without realizing what I was doing and it was driven home to me the other day when I let a friend try my truck. His comment was that it was impossible to drive the vehicle without spinning the tires. It's not, but there's a learning curve.
So... To EZ or not to EZ? You decide.

Hate to say this but it appears that pressure boxes are not friendly to the CP3 high pressure pump. Starting to see a trend in CP3 seals leaking, pressure valves failing with the pressure box installed.
With duration and or timing boxes available it's a much safer choice. But cost more.

^^^ Great so your sayin murphy and his laws are hot on my ars again? I put the ez on last night, so you're sayin it might cause some troubles with my CP3 seals and presure valves? how does he do it? Murphy tracks my every move I swear.
Mikmaze,
Just could be luck of the draw. Also notice that you don't have gauges. Better get some, and hurry. With these boxes the EGT get pretty high.
I'm going to wait until the warranty is out before adding a box. And it's going to be a duration or timing box.
