Why did you look in the tank first? The 04's came with the fuel pump mounted below the fuel filter housing. If you have a fuel pump issue there are lots of aftermarket pumps to choose from.

And do you have any scientific evidence to back that up, or is it just an opinion?

"Since that time we have found that the FP943 transfer pump is made by one source. The same source that made the pump for MOPAR and Cummins; Carter Division of Federal-Mogul. We can only imagine their surprise when MOPAR and Cummins stopped their collective purchasing from Carter. Lots of extra inventory?"

"Perhaps so. That part is now in the aftermarket showing up in a brown Delphi box and in a white Fel-Pro box. We've closely inspected the pump and its contents. They are the same kit."

The above quote is straight fro Genos website about the Delphi pump.Sounds to me like the same pump from the factory!Definitely not an upgrade.
