From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Believe you will find frames are different, axle perches and obviouslly the bed. You will end up with two bas______ to say the least. Buy what you want, It will be a lot saner thing to do. Donor truck will only get you so far also.

He should only need the bed and rear end...

A Mega Cab Dually bed is the same bed as a quad cab short bed , it should be a direct bolt on item.

I would think the rear end would be a simple swap as well....I`ve seen a few of these swaps before , and they turned out very nice.

I'm not so sure the mega cab bed and the short bed are actually the same. When I stretched my mega cab dually, we also had to add another piece of frame at the rear bumper and one of the guys said its different then the short bed on a quad or reg cab. The guys at innovative customs have some mega cab dually beds there...I know because I left mine there. They are in Lehi UT.
I think the swap might be a lot more then meets the eye but good luck.
You would have duals on the rear and regular style wheels on the front which would limit your rotations.

I believe the frame on your truck is basically the same as what is on my LWB Quad Cab I have. I did the SRW to DRW swap and posted my comments on a few SRW to DRW threads - do a search and you shall find.

The swap is easy...just do some research. And I'd recommend swapping out an axle from a dually (again, I don't think it matters if its a dually Mega or Quad cab as they have the same axles).

Good Luck!

Some have gone to spacers on the stock axle, takes the 8 lugs to 10 lugs so you can go to the 19.5 or 22 tires. Then they just add fiberglass fenders to the stock bed. I believe that www.southwestwheels.com has a link on their site for this stuff. Using the spacers makes the total wheel package just a tad longer/wider than a stock dually, they have some really nice fender kits that have additional flare width to accomodate this width.

Thanks for all the input guys.I have been researching this for some time now.I will be using steel spacers front and rear with aftermarket 17 in wheels.Stock rims are almost as expensive as aftermarket ones.So far the only source for fender flares I have found is DODGE.They are way pricey. If anyone knows a company that makes an aftermarket fender flares to fit a Mega Cab please let me know. Thanks -Andy.
