Driveway Oil Spots

I posted this in a different forum by mistake...

Yep! got oil on the driveway. I thought it was coming from the sump plug and just put it down to the morons at the garage doing the oil change. So yesterday I got the creeper and slid under the truck to tighten the sump plug. It was tight and it lools like the oil is coming from the rocker cover vent tube..! I checked the oil level and it's fine. The truck runs good - It's noisier than my brothers 04.5 auto but ive heard some are noisier than others.
Any ideas why it could be doing it..? Left over residue from someone over filling it..?

Only way to tell is to powerwash that thing clean and then keep an eye on it. I know that they make a dye that can be added to the oil, which, under blacklight will glow for you (have to do this at night, use one of those lizard black lights from a pet store). Could be left over oil from them just splashing it everywhere?

It is a vent tube, air coming from the crankcase has a small bit of oil mist in it, which will gather and form a drop, which will drip. As long as it is not pouring out it is normal, look at it this way, it is not an oil leak, just the beast marking its territory, like a older Harley or Classic Triumph MC.

hummm - Seems to be more than just a drip. I can see a wet patch under the truck.

Mine has 18,7xx on it and puts a drip or two down from the breather tube when I park, facing downward, on the concrete slab by my house.

If my driveway was red it would look like a ladybug.

What are the size of the oil drops being left behind? Quarter size? I would just keep an eye on it, but seems that it is normal to get oil out the vent tube. Sorry, missed that in the first post....
