Ok so after having the tires balanced three times (vibration seemed to coincide with new tires) had a mechanic friend look at the truck and he feels there is too much play in the carrier bearing, have always had a bit of the take off shudder and now I'm towing a 10,000# fifth wheel its really pronounced(quick look at U-joints and says they seem alright). After much reading I'm considering changing to the one piece drive shaft, sounds like it cures a lot of ills. My concerns are price, and finding the right one. Local driveline shop didn't seem to interested in helping, just looked up the cost to order one at 800+ kind of rich for my blood right now. So I guess I'm looking for suggestions as to where to buy one, fair price and if any one knows the actual part number if I went through Dodge/Ram for the one that would fit my truck (2007, 5.9L, auto, quad cab, long bed or see sig). Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

 

I had same problem with my 05. If you search 1 piece drive line there are several threads on it with the part numbers for what truck. I think mine was $700 did not solve my hop and shudder. I put on caltrac traction bars to stop axel wrap still didn't stop hop with 5th wheel hooked up. You could see the tailgate hop up and down leaving light in second gear empty. May have just solved it. Have been running amsoil in diffs for years. Added amsoil lsd modifier hop seems to be gone now. For now. 😱
