Dealer Voided My Warrenty
they said nothing about the downloader they just said that gagit on your windsheild voids your warrenty than i asked why and they said it adds power than i said theres noway that the outlook monitor adds power and they said there reginal tech told them it does and than the tech that worked on the truck downloaded some dyno curves from bully dogs website that i really didnt get to look at i just saw them staple it to my paperwork they keep on file at the dealer
i have a downloader but how can they tell? also if they can see overfueling or somthing like that why didnt he just say that he played dumb and just kept blaming the regioal tech
Key cycles is the biggest clue. There are tons of other things that they can see as well. Max rail pressure, Max boost , it goes on and on. What does it matter who he blames. You got busted. Take your licks like a big boy now. Hey , it happens,I'm not trying to dog you, but too many people think that "Dodge is a great big company, why couldn't they just fix mine?" It costs a ton for warranties, and when guys go above and beyond the designed duty , they have to accept the consequences. I have power adders as well! BUT......I knew the costs that were above and beyond the price of the power adders! Sorry man. That's life.
In all fairness, from a design & production standpoint, if a product is designed to work acceptably well with, say 300hp & 600 lb-ft of torque in a stead-state condition, for the life-cycle of the product, then it is only fair to assume the manufacturer can warranty the product and it's associated componets when operatd at this level. This is an example only, however recall that the transmisson, driveshafts and u-joints, differential and axles are supporting components utilized in the drivetrain of the veichle to transmit power to the wheels. If they are only designed for the specifed horsepower, and yet a consumer chooses to build upon this power level, then the manufacturer cannot assume responsibility for the premature failure of componetry involved. Think a programmer cannot affect a drivetrain? Guess so. Do you honestly think that given the right computing technology, that they can tell, let's say, not only if you had a programmer, but also how often you used it, at what level you used it, etc...would you believe me? Not saying that they "would" trace all this, but it's more than likely possible that they can.
And if it were my company shelling out $4000 per truck for a new transmission that was operated "within standard specification," you know what - I would question it too.

There is a law, however, that the dealer MUST be able to prove that the downloader caused the problem. i found this out when I researched to see how these Harley riders get away with doing so much and still maintaining warranty. The downloader probably caused the tranny problems, but make them prove it. My buddy went through 2 trannies with teh bullydog downloader....2nd one they almost voided his warranty but he took it elsewhere and it was fixed.

I think the poor guy knows he is toast but just hates to admit it. When you play ya gotta pay sometines. The bottom line is they have more money and lawyers than you---remember if they fixed yours then that would open up repairs for everyone else.
Really sad because after about 2k I perform mods and know the powertrain is now mine if something bad happens....

I am not a dealer, however, I did work for one for nearly six years. I look at it as theft. If you try to take something that you have no right to have, you are stealing. When you void your warranty and try to get something repaired under warranty, it is just that. Stealing.
