How much of the above was mechanic incompetence - you tell me? I am far from being an aggressive driver.

Been following this thread with hopes of finding out why my 2006 MegaCab 3500 4x4 diesel shudders when I accelerate from a standstill. I usually accelerate very moderately but still the shudder. Happens empty or when I pull my 13,000 lb fifth wheel. Seems to pull it ok after that initial "lift the load" shudder. It has done it since about 90,000 km and I am now close to 150,000 km.
Any help would be appreciated.

easydoesit,

If you search around the site for shudder or rear pinion angle you will find articles with similar problems as you are stating. I think most people had the shudder either empty or loaded not both? I believe they change the pinion angle by adding/removing spacers under the center carrier of the rear driveshaft.

Hope that gets you in the right direction as the other area would be if your converter is getting tired as I think it can also make the truck shudder.
