Damper & Pulley

Does anyone know where I can purchase, online, a Cummins damper 4933224 (new number 5285679) and a pulley 4930580? I went to the local Cummins dealer and was quoted $490.71, which consider way too much, for the damper and $47.90, which is fair, for the pulley.
Thanks John

Not positive, but I think Genos sell them.

I paid $327 for the 6.7l viscous fluid damper at Mopar America using the Mopar number instead of the cummins number. But I paid $73.03 for the fan pully. The numbers I used from Mopar were 68005166AA for the damper, and 68002978AA for the fan pully. When they arrived, the damper was in a cummins box with the cummins part number on it.

It appears the mopar number has also been superseded for the damper and is now 68143868AA, which is only $227.70 right now at moparamerica. You can call them too- they are dodge dealership in North Carolina.

Was this an upgrade for the OEM damper on your 5.9 ? If so was it worth it ? What, if any, difference did it make ? Thanks in advance for your response.

I don't have one yet, I'm still trying to find one with a decent price. I really don't want to go with the Fluidampr, although it appears to be a quality product, because of the PITA in replacing the accessory belt.

I think they consider it an upgrade to the 5.9 because it replaces the original rubber design with viscous fluid (if I remember right)- and the rubber version had a tendency to fail. Mine wasn't bad- but my shop thought the funny vibrations I was getting with a brand new single mass flywheel clutch kit installed were from my damper going bad. So I did the replacement.

After replacing the factory 5.9 damper with the new 6.7L style, vibrations were tamed, but not eliminated- it is indeed an improved design, or my stock damper was failing. I can still swap my belt without removing the new style damper as well.

I solved my vibration issue by going back to the DMF factory clutch setup. Now that my funny vibrations are solved, I can't really tell a difference between when my truck had the original working DMF kit and the original damper compared to the new version. The "upgrade" damper was noticeably smoother with the single mass though.
