Exclamation Clucth Problems

Once again I have lost another clucth. The first was replaced by dodge but now I'm out warranty. My 2006 3500 has less then 31,000 on it and now this will be it's
3rd clucth. Does anyone have any information on TST Products....good or bad?! I also have a 4 1/2 inch lift from tuff country, would this have any impact on the issue? Thanks for the advice/help.

Teddy

I don't think the lift had anything to do with it.

When mine goes, I'll probably do the Southbend con ofe from here (stock power, but towing heavy).

Looking at TST's page, it looks like the clutches they carry are Southbend.

Lift won't have anything to do with the clutch going out, big tires will though. And if you have added power, the stock Luk won't hold up.

If you only have 31K miles on her, you've got something else going on that better be addressed before the next clutch goes in. I don't care how big the tires are, the clutch should hold up a lot longer than 31,000 miles.

Yes Ivan, fill in your signature so we know what mods you've done.
If it's only lasting 31k something's wrong, the stock clutch should hold stock power fine.

Thanks for the info guys...I have a flashpaq from super chips and usally have it set to perforance most of the time expect when im pulling. I dont really race unless someone wants to play. As far as upgrade it's just programmer and an intake. I am running 35's as well. I'm also going to pick up a pusher pump and smarty when I order the clucth. Like I said before, it has already been through 2 stock clucths. Keep the ideas coming and thanks for the help.

I'm happy with my SB OFE.
I hear the 3250 DD is a nice clutch but I didn't want the noise and slower shifting of a DD.
In between there's an FE which holds more power but is very grabby from what I hear, not good for anyone towing a trailer.

I've got the SBC 3250 DD and like it, it is noiser... Depends on the truck, some will rattle more than others. Holds power great, easy to tow with, however, it does have it's little tweaks. Sometimes I have to double clutch to get 1st or reverse, and it does shift slower than the stock, has a little more pedal pressure. The SBC 3250 DD easily hold the power and swing the bigger tires. Like I said before, bigger tires and extra power will make short work of the stock clutch.

Alright so I have installed the new clucth (SB OFE) and now my truck will not start. Sounds like the starter will not engauge the fly wheel. Tried to call the parts store where I ordered the clucth but they are not open on saturday. Any ideas? Thanks!!!

The new flywheels bolts directly to the crank, you didn't put those spacers from the DM flywheel back on did you?

Well we figured it out. The ring gear fell off the brand new fly wheel. We will say what south bend has to say about it monday morning. When the new parts get in we get to change the fly wheel again. Lucky us....

I don't remember, but I didn't think the ring gear even came off the flywheel?

Sucks ya gotta pull it all apart again.
