Charging system failure
Charging system failure
Good afternoon everybody. Here's my situation. I noticed for about 5-6 weeks when turning the key to on that the battery gauge was a bit low. Then sometimes while driving it would drop below norm then come back up a few minutes later. Then one day it dropped to zero and stayed there. I had 30 miles to get home, the radio shut off, then the emergency brake light came on. Anyway, I've replaced both batteries and the alternator. When I turn the key to on the gauge shows maybe 10. When I start the motor the gauge drops to about 6. I've checked for chafed or broken wires but can't find anything. I appreciate any help on this situation.
At the same time all this was happening I got a code for the crankshaft position sensor and I replaced it. Is there a connection between the two?
