changing the front/rear diff. oil?

Hi guys, just want to ask you if when you guys changed your diff oils did you had them sucked out or did you pull the pan off? If you pulled the pans off is there a gasket to reseal it or do you just use silcone? Thanks

Pull the covers, definately a more thorough route.

They have gaskets already in place.....

So what kind of gasket? Is it reusable or not? Or do I just use silcone?

If it is GL-5 rated 75w90 synthetic you are good to go. Royal purple is good stuff from what I hear, but I use Mobil 1 in my diffs.

6qts. will get the job done. front and rear. the gaskets are re-usable and when re-filling, fill to 1/2" below the fill hole.
