Cat delete?

I have already deleted my muffler and i am considering doing the same with my cat. I just wanted to see if anyone else has done this and can give me any advice. Is this is good idea? I have been told that it may make my egt's run higher. Thank you

Nah...It'll keep 'em the same or lower 'em a bit.

Keep your cat...you may need it someday.

It will drop your EGT's, but the fact that the exhaust sounds better will keep your foot in it more, thus increasing your EGT's

It will drop them a little, and you might see a .5-1 mpg diffenence. IT'll be pretty loud.

Love it. The weather is still good, it's going to get HOT here in another month. I like the area, we live in a good place, too.

So, whose 'test pipe' are you thinking of running?

I believe that MBRP's 'test pipe' is a turbo flanged downpipe??

There are probably other 'test pipes' that are turbo flanged down pipes as well.

I have waffled between the cat delete and the muffler delete. I would like a little sound but nothing obnoxious. The neighbor has a cat delete and it sounds good going by. My little research indicates the cat is less restrictive than the muffler and if I keep the cat I would be eco friendly..... So what does a muffler delete sound like compared to the cat delete?
Thanks

That's weird, my research indicated the opposite and somewhere on this site there is a thread where someone dyno-ed a truck before and after a cat delete and noted a 20 hp gain without. I just deleted the cat and added a Aero Turbine muffler and to me the truck feels a little bit more powerful and it's not annoyingly loud.

Turbo,
I never saw that post but saw the opposite. I would love to know for sure! 20 hp is a big gain! Maybe someone know the facts out there and will chime in.....
