Where is the 30 ft-lb coming from?
The Dodge factory service manual.

Hmm mine has a rubber seal I've been using everytime I change the oil with 75-140 full syn. gear oil. All I ever do is take a open/box end wrench and tighten them up. Mine never has leaked yet nore have I broken a bolt off. Next time your at the parts house just pull one an grab another.

I am getting ready to do mine

I think I will only tighten mine to 20 foot pounds and see if there are any leaks. I think I will check reverse torque when i am taking them off to see what they are currently. I know it won't be exactly the same but maybe it will give me an idea.

I think we are supposed to use the higher viscosity though...I read somewhere on here the was a bulletin of some sort about using the higher viscosity.

They appear to come with a pretty tough brown threadlocker, so I suspect the torque to back them out will be higher than what they were torqued to at the factory...

Those bolts are M8X1.25 aren't they? Should be able to get them at Tractor Supply Company or possibly even Home Depot.

I didn't think RTV could set up that quick, but whatever works for him.
Sounds like the track wouldn't like that if they knew he was doing that ... But hey, yeah whatever works .
