Missing exhaust bolt: broke or backed out?
Missing exhaust bolt: broke or backed out?
Well I was looking over the engine and noticed that the rearmost top exhaust bolt is missing. I haven't stuck anything in there to cofirm that it backed out completely or just the head broke off. What is more common. I guess with my luck that its broke off. So is this means for a 3 piece manifold, and well since I'm there it would be the best time for a 2nd turbo......................ARGH, er I guess I should figure out what happened first. Only thing I can think of is during that roadtrip to FL the truck overheated on 2 mountains pulls. As soon as I pulled over the "Check guages" light came on
Yea so hopefully if its broke there is no tension on the threads since the head is gone. Until I finish typing this, currently there is no exhaust leak, or none that I can hear.

Mine has keeper straps to help hold the exhaust manifold bolts in.
