Going up over Oregon Highway 58 with the camper on the truck, at the top of the pass where there is no cell phone reception, the #4 injector backed out and the whole engine quit.
I had to be towed all the way home; 114 miles.

Has this happened to anyone else? I am hoping that it is not stripped. I am going out to the garage as soon as the garage warms up to see if I can screw it back in. Any suggestions or anything would be appreciated.

What an end to a lousy vacation.

 

So how did this turn out? I'm kind of surprised the engine stop running because of this.

 

The truck is running again.
It looks like someone had changed injectors at some point in the trucks life and put the wrong crush washer on that one injector. put the new crush washer on and it runs fine. I decided to replace the other 5 crush washers at the same time since I had no idea if they had the wrong crush washer installed too.
I don't know why the engine quit because of the one injector. I tried restarting it but no go.
