differential bolt torque value ?

Can anyone tell me the correct torque value for my front and rear diff. bolts ? I'm changing the fluid for the first time and I've read that it is easy to over tighten them and I don,t want to break one.

Most people torque them to 25 ft/lbs because these bolts have been known to break. I did mine at 25.

When the 3rd gens first came out, there were a bunch of treads about broken bolts, not getting to 30 ft/lbs.

With my 03, I cleaned up the threads well, and got through my first change torqued to 30 ft/lbs, so I figured I must not have gotten any weak bolts...

2nd change, one snapped off, it it barely got snug. Fortunately they are easy to remove.

Anyway, I'd go 25ish foot pounds, with some blue locktite. I just did the 06 a while back and did them by feel, with no problems.

I went to 30 ft/lbs. with blue loc-tite but I was a little nervous about it. With fine threads I don't know why they say to go to 30. I will definitely stop at 25 next time. Thanks all for your input.
