I am at 85,300 with my General Ameritrac 235/80/17 and have 8-10K left.
At 65 mph my mileage is hand calculated freeway 21.3-21.5 very consistant over a 250 mile strech of Hwy 85. 373 rear gears.

Well I havent updated my milage since I got home the other day I am now like 323 or 325 something like that!
The only thing I have had to do that even had anything to do with the engine is change fan clutch every 90k, idler pulley at 225k changed 2 injectors at 208k and thats it with the motor! I put in a new clutch, pressure, plate, flywheel and slave cylinder at 200k because it all went together! Kinda funny I put in the new clutch stuff then I put it all back together and was breaking in the new clutch and my pedal stayed on the ground! Got home and found the slave cylinder had just gone out!!
A few u-joints and 3 front wheel bearings and that is it!!
Probably retire her she is really starting to show her age! Plus the dodge in her is really starting to show age!! has been for a while. I have been looking at a medium duty to replace this one with!
The tranny and rear axle dont leak at all. The engine is starting to use oil and it has a leak at the rear main seal. I think I am starting to have a drive line issue because on my last trip home I am starting to get a loud growling sound. I would get that sound just before I would loose a u joint, but they are all good. It could be a hum from the rear end. But with the miles I have on it and no more money that what I have put in it I cant complain at all!
RoadTravler,
I think that CTD has served you well, I at one time I ran a 98 CTD hauling a 3 car carrier for 190,000 miles, I ran the stock size wheels, You will change your gear ratio when you go bigger, and that will affect your pulling power drasticly, it's a money maker stay with original size and just put some sick wheels on it and keep truckin! just my .02
