The napa link with the filters. Boy these filters ain't cheap. Th Duralite air cleaner seems to be reasonable. I don't know how it filters.

Locally they want about 75 bucks for the Napa an Wix filters.

Ok thanks. I measured the opening on the intake hose that goes from the filter to the compressor. It's a 4.5 in ID. I guess that is the reason everyone goes with the new pipeing and elbows from the filter to the compressor. I was hopeing I could use the original pipe.

Sorry but I forgot. Are you using the ol smokey mount? I make a template this afternoon and it seems like it enclosed the filter pretty well. The end toward the windshield res can be filled and the lower part of the mount toward the radiator can be filled also. That would pretty much draw in cold through the front where the original "scoop" was and around the lights and such.

What are your thoughts about the ol smokey mount? Do what I am saying make sense?

I'm not using any mount - it just lays in there! Can you shoot me a link to this "ol smokey mount"? Is it strictly a 1st gen thing?

I dono. See if you can use it. Mine fits on the right fender just in back of the headlight. The second site is a better drawing.

You can buy the BHAF filter from Fleetfilter.com. It is a Napa filter for about $35--as of a year ago.

I did a very similar mod to the '00 PSD that I used to have. On those trucks, the sensor was just used to measure the incoming air temps. Most people just zip tied the sensor to something near the filter.

Any reason that this couldn't be done on a CTD?

I drilled a hole in the flex tube "thick part" for the sensor and reused the screws if I remember correctly.
