BD Replacement Lift Pump Kit

Has any tried the BD-Power Replacement Lift Pump Kit? Looks like a good deal for $250. But are they any good. I'm not planing on bombing my truck. Just looking for a little extra fuel pressure. Looked at Glacier, and it looks like a good kit, but $400. May as well go with the FASS. Also not looking for extra fuel filters, the stock filter works OK.

i have had one on mine since april. nice kit. good price. shipped it to me in 2 days. provides 14 psi at idle, and i've never pulled it below 10psi. the harness just plugs into the factory pigtail for the factory l/p, so no splicing. the pump goes under the rear seat area inboard of the drivers framerail. have to cut the metal supply line from the tank. have to drill/tap 3, 1/4-20 holes for the mounting studs/vibration isolators.

i am happy with mine.

If you want to save some money I think this is exactly the same.

Go to www.summitracing.com (click on link) in the parts search type in.
crt-4601hp this is the pump and kit for mounting.
sum-890023 this is the wire relay kit.

Go to the auto parts store and buy yourself 2 feet of fuel hose and a couple clamps and your set to go.

you'll need the block to install into the filter housing to take the place of the pump discharge. unless the summit kit comes with one?

Good catch, my mind was on 2002 and earlier models. The kit doesn't come with one.

Thanks for the info Guys, (dodgezilla04). I'm not planning on bombing this truck,(maybe a SuperChip), so that should be more than enough fuel pressure for me.

Thumbs up

I have had the BD pump kit on for six months and it works great. As Dodgezilla04 said it is an easy installation. The pump that Bluebull pointed out at Summit Racing is the same pump and is what I bought to carry as a spare.

Can anyone tell me, is the BD replacement lift pump noisy?

The pump from Summit racing looks to be the same as the BD pump, but said it is a gas pump, is this true?

Not trying to cheat anyone out of a sale, but I just installed the Vulvan Big Line Relocation kit and have great numbers with the factory pumps. 17 idle, 14 at 90mph and 10 or 11 at WOT. Check it out. Total cost to me was $136.00

I have been running a bd pump kit for about two years now with no problems, but I run it as a pusher pump for the stock pump.I know if the stock pump quits I might be in trouble, then I will just buy the block and eliminate the stocker

BD has a kit where you add a fuel pump between the fuel tank and the stock lift pump. keeping the stock lift pump up and running in place. The elect. on off feeds off a oil pressure sender. The pump installs on the frame, same as the other kit. Looks like a easy install, but if the stock lift pumps goes, will the other pump be able to push fuel through the broken stock pump? Maybe enough to get me home, or is that it, dead on the side of the road? Would it push enough fuel to get me home while towing?
