Check your carrier bearing. Mine went bad with about 65k on the clock.

I had my buddy check it out. It is a bad u-joint and possibly the carrier bearing. I have 47,000 miles on the truck. Anyone know if it will be covered under warranty?

2005 with 47,000, those parts might be coverd under the power train. You would have had to have paid a transfer fee to continue the coverage. I"m not sure, but I think it had to be paid within 30 days of purchase. Read your warranty book. If they are coverd, and you did not pay the fee you are probably s o l

Call the 1-800# in the back of your warranty book. Describe the parts to the customer service rep. Keep in mind, some of the CS reps. seem to be part time "rocket surgeons" so keep it simple. If the parts are coverd and you have the dealer make the repair, you pay a deductible. You might also have to pay a diagnostic fee. I had to pay $50. If the dealer makes the repairs, and holds out his hand for cash or credit card, tell him to check the computer for the warranty info. Dealers have that info. but, some won"t check unless you ask. Also, some dealers will try to sell you something not coverd. Thats your call. Good luck.
