Auto Tranny problems...

Morning.
So. A month and change ago or so, was driving along, and had no go at all. Truck would barely make it up a hill unloaded... Pulled over, learned there was no fluid in the tranny... hmmmm. Looked under the truck, nothing. No grease, no slop, nothing. Dry. So i filled it up, put in a bottle of tranny leakfix and good to go. Well, day or so ago, started to get slightly sluggish again. -2 weeks ago, hauled 6500lb stonedust around for 45 minutes with no problem- In the bed no less... Today, sluggish again, as i pulled into the meat market. Looked under the truck on my way out, and i have a pool of fluid. Get her home, only 2 miles away, and look under. Whole pan is covered in fluid. Not sure even where to begin looking for the leak. 55k on the truck, never changed the tranny fluid or filter. Figure i will just start there. New seal, filter, fluid, whatnot... What else should i buy and install while i have the pan off? What can i install without taking out the tranny? And what can i purchase and have here really soon? I kinda need the truck to use for work and such. Motorcycle only does me so good in the rain... and i cant put groceries in it either! lol.
Thanks guys.

Check the eay things first - pan gasket and cooling lines. Don't drop the pan until you find the leak. If you do, you'll go through all that work, not fix the leak, dump all that expensive new fluid onto the ground, and be right back where you started from.

Get in ther with some good degreaser and a power washer to get rid of all the slime and grime. Once it's dry, run it again until you find the leak.

You got 55K miles without changing or servicing the trans!!!???
I think it sounds like you got more problems than a bath will fix.

Yeah. I know. My dealer dude is a complete...... winner.... Was told i was able to not worry about it for long long time. And was told to not adjust the bands at all, that it would lessen the life of the trans.
