97 ram 3500. i just got it running agian. it had sat for 2 years because of the tranny problems.
here is what the tranny does.

sometimes it is fine and then it will randomly freewheel. it will not lock up in OD. any ideas? or is there a known problem with these trannies? any easier fixes, or better trannins to put in?

 

Sounds like it might be the TPS or something else electrical. There are many suppliers of aftermarket trannies and TCs. Well worth the change!

 

I think it is the torque convertor. The freewheeling problem sounds like a stator or sprag clutch problem.
