All 6 injectors replaced short of 100,000 miles, factory recall. Two replaced around 150,000 (?) One was bad, one was weak so I replaced it while I had it out.

About 85% of the miles are highway.

i don't feel so bad. 172,544 miles, towing or hauling.

2004 order feb, delivered april. 3500 single rear short box. RR, off road 4x4 package. we abuse this truck in the hilly woods, over load it with steel, drive it up 60 degree banks at the marina and tow big boat 19,000lb frequently. that motor will still put you deep in the seats. 4 wheel low is no joke.

original everything. even air "flow" box, which isn't.
I did a custom rebuild on the tranny when the case leaked.
eighteen wheel bearings, ten u joints, 3 rotors, run flat , 10 ply 20 inch tires.
the box is whupped from bad loader operators.

dealer screwed up the nav system, we never got the sales pictured one anyways.....

I am amazed at the lack of miles some people get when an injector or pump goes out. What is not being done to keep the longevity up? I guess that is the 64 dollar question that will never be answered.

I'm guessing it is the vast differences in the quality of fuel across North America. It would be interesting to see test results from many CTDs, half of which having 2 micron fuel filters from the git go.

I forgot to put that mine is an 06, I did replace the lift pump but only because of bad advise from the dealer. I also added a second fuel filter when I replaced the two injectors. I think if I owned a dealership I would push the severe duty filter system to all diesel buyers. Maybe the newer trucks have a better filter than mine.

I wouldn't say it's alot of people that have low mile problems. Only a couple here out of the 30 or so responded.
Mine:
'07 5.9
May as well of bought it new, only 10k mi on it when I purchased. 105k now.
Orig CP3 and injectors. WIX gold fuel filter with every oil change.
Have often thought about add'l filtration, maybe a aftermarket lift pump, but seems there's enough trucks like your with a crap load of miles on an orig fuel system to not warrant it for me.
Why do you say someone is trying to sell you new sticks or pump if the truck runs fine as is.

Happy with mine so far. Knock on wood, not many of the "common" problems....yet. Orig front end components, ujoints, 2 piece rear d shaft that is still fine. Only lost a #4 inj line, 1 steering box and it seems to like to eat power steering pumps (rebuilds) but I can't handle shelling out the $800 the dlr wants for the "new, better" PS pump setup.
