Whatcha gonna do with the fenders/spacers and stuff? Wild04.5 here on DTR is looking to do a single to dual conversion and would probably be interested in your leftovers!

Most guys find a whole new bed because there will be holes in yours where the fenders bolt up. If it were that easy to swap out I would be doing it too. I'm tired of people flashing their lights at me on narrow windy roads because my extra rear wheels are coming over the yellow lines.....
Is the rear on the dually the same size as on the SRW 3500s? I've seen reports where it was the same and some saying it is wider. Also, can you put regular rims on the front without pulling the spacers off? Will it look OK like this or will the wheels stick out too far?

I did it about 4 months ago. I found a new bed and a set of SRW wheels to take the place of the DRW parts. The rear diff is about 1"-1.5" wider on each side than the front after the front spacers are removed. I have found that unless you know what your looking for most people do not even notice. I have pics I could email but I cannot post due to lack of knowledge on how. PM me and I would be glad to send you pics.

Dodgezilla -

If you don't take the front spacers out, SRW wheels will stick out about 6 inches each. I have thought about running SRW wheel up front by removing the spacers (I don't like the way the stick out and it would like like a mini set of Super Singles), but then you loose the ability to rotate the fronts.

The rear is wider as stated above, but I think you could get aftermarket wheels with 4.5 rear/5.5 front backspacing and it would track near perfect. The wheels would stick out about an inch, but fender flares could cover that pretty easy. I think it could be done for the cost of a bed and wheels. Either that or swap out the rear axle and it will be OEM SRW.

Sounds like a big hassle to me. Thanks for the info though. I guess I'll keep my training wheels and just put bigger tires on em which will, of course, make it even harder to keep it in my lane on those windy roads. I'd better get a tinted windshield for all the highbeams I'll be seeing!!!
