any problems with the 06
112,000
1 a/c compressor
2 blower motors
1 heater core
1 clutch
1 power steering pump
3 vacuum pumps (jake)
many random codes that the dealer can't figure out(runs bad for a few minutes a couple times a month throwing up to 8 codes then runs fine)
and IMO the worst seats i've ever sat on

I am looking for a '06 as well but this is my biggest concern. Are my concerns justified or am I just worrying? This issue had me looking at the '07.5-08 trucks but their low(er) mileage and regen stuff has been the concern for those ones.
If it does the job for you ,buy it,it's just really too bad that Dodge never put the new 6 spd auto and the jake in the 06 models, the newer 6.7l ,6 spd autos seem to get alot more power to the wheels, but when the warranty on all that pollution equipment expires it will be costly to maintain, simplicity is always more cost effective in the long run.

Thanks for the replies. I couldnt pass it up so went ahead and bought it price was right 21,800. with 37k miles. only thing wrong so far is that it has about 4k in hail damage. Mainly hood ,roof, and windshield. So the 06 has the crappy seats like my 07. they are the worst seats ever made.
feyd,
I would not hesitate to buy an '06. The trans issue should have been taken care of by now. The motor, as you probably know, will outlast the truck with regular maintenance.
Also, I would not let the 36k B-B warranty on the drive train (100k motor) be a limiter. The AC vent door was also fixed under warranty. That leaves the only major system to be concerned with is the trans. I figure if the trans goes out after the 36k warranty, I'll spend the $3-5k to have it bullet-proofed, then not worry about for 150k+ miles.
I would stay away from the 6.7's. They still seem to have issues w/ particulate filter regens.
