Antifreeze

Hey guys, bit of a problem today. My water pump went out today and was needing to know how much DEX/antifreeze to use. I mean what is the capacity?

I believe you should be using HOAT (I think Zerox makes it). Avoid DEX. I think around 4 gallons, but not sure. I need to do mine to. Do you have the owner's manual?

Total coolant capacity is 7gal. And use only Zerox G-05 (hoat) or the Mopar stuff. I know because I had to change out mine last week. I bought 3gals of antifreeze. After I took off the old pump, I drained the rad.. So with refilling the rad., block and reserve, I put about 5 1/2 gal of 50/50 mix back in. It should be good for the next 5yr/150k, that's what the bottle says.

Might be, MOPAR (GO-5) and Dex-Cool are incompatible according to Dodge. Dodge warns not to mix these 2 products. Dex is OAT, GO-5 is HOAT.

Go with the Fleetguard, because it's much cheaper than the MOPAR. I just flushed my 2005, and I believe the capacity was about 6 gallons.

Try the Fleetguard ES Optimax - it's supposed to be good for 300,000 miles.

My Dodge dealer and Cummins both told me not to use the Dex-Cool.

The Zerex is HOAT and its clear as water.

I don't like it being clear because I'm sure a dealer will try to say you're running straight water.
