I think we should cut Luke some slack, I'm sure he is well aware oh how "in-the-loop" he is on new introductions. He was just stating what he has heard from his zone rep who has been a source of accurate information for him in the past. Just a little conflicting information from different sources which is normal, I think it's all cleared up now.

No Allison tranny.
Cab and Chasssis = Aisin 6 speed Automatic
All other HDs = 68RE "Auto-stik" 6 speed Automatic, built in-house.

Yeah, there tends to be a lot of possibilities that people have heard. I guess we will just have to wait and see what DC comes out with. Hopefully it will be a good tranny.

But...but....why on earth would they offer TWO auto trannys for essentially the same application? Not trying to flame anyone, but it makes no sense to me.

I'm hoping that Dodge is just going to have the ASIAN upfitted with the manual gear changers on the steering wheel. Chevy has this on there new Allisions which are even better tranny's in the new 06+ models!

The aisin might cost more than the new tranny and also might be available first for the chassis cab's that will come out BEFORE the 07' model year. I've read that the only way that aisin and allison are related is that the allison has aisin parts in it.

I like the sound of an American made tranny in the new Dodges. I like to see as much of these trucks built here as possible. Not much is anymore. At least my Cummins is.

Of course. I only care for that reason as I plan to keep my '04 6-spd for many more miles!

(I know, my truck was assembled in Mexico. The more parts built here, the better.)

Dosen't it figure, Engine and Transmission bulit with in 100 miles of each other and then shipped to Mexico to be put in the Trucks. You would think with the Std cabs being assembled in St. Louis, we could bulid the Quad and Mega Cab in Indiana.

I took the statement to mean the Aisin 6 speed would be better than the Allison (GM) & Torq-Shift (Ford) automatic transmissions.
