Info of lifted dodges please!
I have a 2002 cummins quad cab. I would like to put a lift on it. This is what I was thinking.
2 1/2 Skyjacker w/ 33x12.50x16
4 1/2 Skyjacker w/ 33x12.50x16
4 1/2 Skyjacker w/ 35x12.50x16

Those are my three choices, but have yet to see a truck with any of these mods. I also need to keep the total hieght of the truck under 7'10", I baby it and it stays inside. :
... If any of you have any info or pics I would like to see them. Thanks

Re:Info of lifted dodges please!
I'll have pics of my 2002 with 2inch spacer and 315/75R16's tomorrow. ;D ;D
According to the tire guy, they are 34.75" tall and 11.75" wide.
About as close as you can get to a 35x12.50.
Putting them on a 16X10 Weld Stonecrusher.
I'll measure exactness once they are on.
I was going to go with the Skyjacker 2 1/2" spring, but Les Schwab wouldn't install it, they only deal with Tuff Country Suspensions, and I wanted to get it all done at once.
(Tuff Country is a Utah company so I'll give them a chance)
Measurements of my stock ride are as follows.
(taken from ground to outside center of wheel well with 265/75R16 Michellins which are 30.75 inches tall)
Right Front-39.5 inches.
Left Front- 39.75 inches.
Right Rear- 43.5 inches.
Left Rear- 43.5 inches.
By my calculations
that's 4 inch difference so I'll still have some back end lift after the 2inch spacer.
Hopefully the weather cooperates so I can give it a bath before picture time

Re:Info of lifted dodges please!
Here's my 3500 with a 7 inch lift. And here's my truck with a safe & sane 4 inch lift. Do yourself a favor. Don't go over four inches -- three and a half would be best. The CTD engine is too heavy for altitude, even with the expensive kits from a quality manufacturer like Skyjacker. Go over four inches, and above 60 mph, you're going to wobble and roll -- front tire tuck-under, erratic oversteer, and bounce. The 4x4's just don't handle as well as the 4x2's, but it gets a lot worse when you get high. ;D
I'd imagine with the 2500 -- sans training wheels -- the issues may even be magnified.

Re:Info of lifted dodges please!
the 4 inch looks more sturdy as to the 7" it looks akward. i had a truck witha 7" total lift its too slow akward wobbly and center of gravity is lifted. a lot easier to rolll.... i know
Re:Info of lifted dodges please!
The last lifted rig I owned was a 78' chevy blazer, it had a 12" suspenion and a 3" body with 44" gumbo mudders.
...It looked kick azz but was not to practical. The only lifts I have found available for the dodge cummins is a 2 1/2 and a 4 1/2. I think it would look better with a three inch and 33's, but I have not found a 3" lift yet. The guys at our local 4x4 shop said "I COULD CLEAR 33'S WITH A 2 1/2 LIFT NO PROBLEM". I don't want the tires to look "STUFFED" in the fender wells, but I also don't want the look of "TOO" much lift. Just can't leave well enough alone, have to lift everything I own! Hell I even have a lift kit and large tires on my 4-wheeler! ;D.. Thanks for all the info.

33's will fit under your truck with no lift, and they wouldn't look "stuffed" into the wheel wells. It is even possible to run 35's without a lift, but you would encounter some rubbing at full lock and during offroading.
33's with only a 2.5" lift may look like you are not running enough tire... That all depends on preference. 35's can be easily run with the 2.5" lift and looks good to boot.
I have run 33's on my truck with no lift, and have 'wheeled it pretty hard with nary a clearance problem. I am now running 255/85's which are more like a 34x9.50 and I have plenty of clearance.
Here are a couple of pictures of my truck with 33" BFG All Terrains on it (sorry, that is a late april snow messing with the flash!):

Re:Info of lifted dodges please!
I had a 2" front spacer on the '97 I used to have and I ran 35x14.50x16.5 swampers on it. The front tires rubbed a bit on a tight turn but I think that was more an issue of the width of the tires. I think the back had an add a leaf but I am not sure, It was lifted when I bought it. I don't have any pics scanned in but if you'd like to see what it looks like I'll scan one in for you.

John

Just had mine done, and as promised, here are some pics.
You can see more in my album in the Member's Photos
2inch spacer in front.
Stock, as it is rear.
16x10 Weld Stonecrushers.
315/75R-16 BFG AT's
Here are the new dimensions.
Right Front-43 inches.
Left Front- 43 inches.
Right Rear- 45.75 inches.
Left Rear- 45.75 inches.
Tires are actually 11 inches wide at the tread,
13 inches wide at the "bulge"
34.25 inches tall, mounted on the truck.
My computer monitor sucks, so I hope they look better than they do here, not so dark.
Enjoy,
phox

Re:Info of lifted dodges please!
Had to post this Picture.... ;D ;D , This is my Replacement for My X- Wife.
Had to feel the void. The best trade I ever made.I have a Sky Jacker 4.5" lift with Parnelli Jones 37 by 12.50's. The truck rides almost the same all the way to 80 MPH. Actually the suspension feels a bit more softer, non towing, Havent had the chance to put some weight behind it yet. Now its time for some Bombing
Hope this helps..

Randy

Re:Info of lifted dodges please!
I had 33 BFG MTs on mine with no lift and loved it. I put the 2.5" SJ coils on with 35 BFG MTs and had rubbing. I'm now running the 4.5" lift with the 35s and I think it's the perfect combo. The most I would go is 36s because I like to be able to stuff the fenders without rubbing when I wheel it. Here is a pic of the current set up...
