Aftermarket 3.42 gear ratio?

I'm new to this and was wondering if anybody came across a 3.42 or 3.54 ratio for the 10.5 AAM. I would like to do this to lower my RPMs for highway speeds and I don't think that i would like 315 tires.

I think that i found some kits for my front axle, but I've been searching for the rear axle kit and have come up empty.

???????????????

I wouldn't even bother going through the effort to change from 3.73 to 3.50'ish - you'll only drop 100 rpms or so. A hundred rpms among friends is negligible; you'll have to answer the question if its worth the cost of parts and labor? For two axles.

I agree 100% with this . Were you buying a new truck and had a choise of the 4.10 it would cost you $285.00. But to swap, not worth it

It depends on how long he is going to keep the truck. And besides, that was not his question, his question was if someone knows of where he can find the gear set. The reason I say this is, I read so many posts on someone wants something, only to have people respond "it is not worth it" "I would not do it".....OK ,great, but that is not the question. If he would have asked, "Do you think it is worth swapping from a 3.73 to a 3.54?" Then your response is correct. BUT, he did not ask that.

I do not know where to locate a gear set, but scan Diesel Power for a vendor that may carry that gear, good luck.

4.10's are only a $40 option. if dodge wanted higher gears in the trucks they would of put them in. these truck are ment to pull things not to get 25mpg.

Thanks for the info.

I agree with your remarks on the cost thing and how it might not be worth it, but I am just trying to keep my options open if I want to do anything.

Then I suppose all the older trucks (2002 and below) can't pull anything? They must not because alot of them have 3.55's! If you have enough power gearing is not an issue! Most people overlook the fact if you have a 6spd and you install 3.36 gears you can tow in 5th and use 6th empty for mileage, and an auto can drop gears on it's own.
