Adding boost/EGT gauges
I've decided that it's about time I add some boost and EGT gauges to my truck. I always wished I had to my old truck but never did, and I feel on this truck it's more important seeing as I care about this truck much more. I was planning on buying an AutoMeter 2 1/16" 0-35 psi boost gauge and 2 1/16" 0-1600F EGT gauge. Since I have an NV5600, tranny temp is not of concern to me. So my questions are:
1) Does anyone have a gauge number for an A-pillar gauge pod from Summit Racing or another source? (I haven't been able to find one from Summit Racing's website)
2) Does anyone see any flaws with my plan? I don't want to risk voiding the warranty, but I don't see how this should. I'm planning on going to the Dodge dealer before installation and confirm with them that my warranty will be covered.
Thanks guys!

Go with a 0-60psi boost gauge. I remember readin hear the other day that the stock boost on your truck was around 29psi, so your gauge is going to be pretty much pegged all the time. Since you don't need a tranny gauge, get a fuel pressure gauge. I'm sure some of the other guys around hear will chime in. They convinced me too get a 3rd gauge (fuel pressure). The Autometer Pt # 17203 is for 3 gauge A-pillar mount. I hope this helps.
DPPI on the gauge mount.
I'm happy I finally got the gauges into this truck. I was going by the seat of the pants cool down time based on guessing how long it took my 2nd gen to cool down. I figured the truck was stock, so if I took a little time to let the truck cool I would be alright, especially with winter here. I was surprised when I installed the gauges how hot this truck runs. The factory recommended cool down times are way to low in the owners manual.
I second the fuel pressure gauge. I installed the tranny temp gauge in the a-pillar, but plan on getting the fuel pressure gauge and installing post filter, either on the column or the area of the cigarette lighter.

3 Gauges
I went with three gauges. I got the new three gauge mount from Autometer that puts the gauges in the dash panel just below the heater controls. They all face towards the driver and are easy to see. I chose to go with an oil pressure gauge as my third one as I feel that the fuel pressure hopefully will not be an issue with the pump mounted in the tank. There is a big difference with the factory oil pressure gauge as it reads well below what the Autometer oil gauge reads. I like the gauge setup as it keeps my front view uncluttered when driving. I second the 0-60psi on boost as my truck goes to at least 32psi.

Rain Man do you have a part number for that gauge cluster? That sounds like a good one to me, especially since putting them on the A-pillar is a problem with the handle in the way.
This should be fun! I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of readings I get from my gauges. I also definitely want all my gauges in the same place. That means I don't have to look in as many places when I'm checking gauges while driving (which I do every few seconds).
Ok, I'll go with the 60 psi boost gauge, EGT, and will now decide between oil pressure and fuel pressure. I'm probably going to go with oil pressure just because the fuel pressure gauges, even electronic, cost a lot more money and I'm not too concerned about it, either. I also have a diagnostic fuel pressure gauge that I can hook up to check pressure whenever I'm worried that there is a problem.

Did a search on AutoMeter's website. I found the part number for the console pod Rain Man was talking about (AutoMeter P/N 15021), Oil Temperature gauge (P/N 4341, I decided I was most interested in knowing what the oil temperature is), Pyrometer/EGT (4344), and 0-60 psi boost (4305). I'll order this setup, install them, and post pictures of the results!
Here's another question: How do people who've done this recommend installing the gauges to keep bits of metal from getting into the engine or turbo, and also to prevent leaks? Thanks!

Geno's has this gauge mount. As to the fuel pump inside the tank. I have to feel that DC is making an attempt to fix the fuel pump failure issue. I think that the competition is using this type of pump setup and I don't see any issues with them in regards to the fuel pump failures. I do hope that it is a good fix as I don't want to have to deal with this like on my 99.
