ABS light & brake light
ABS light & brake light
I have intermittent dash light for the ABS & brake. I have been told that speed sensors could cause this, if that's the case where would I look for them? And also, is there one for each wheel and how is it tested to find the faulty one? It was on most of the time when I bought the truck just over a month ago, after putting on front pads, for whatever reason they have not been on as much, until this past week. Am I right withh the sensor(s) or should I be looking someplace else. Any thoughts are appreciated. Jeff
Re:ABS light & brake light
Speed sensor is on the top of the rear differential (on mine). Mine did the same thing. I changed out my front pads too, but the problem was still there. I paid around $30.00 for the sensor. Changed it out and the problem was fixed. Takes about 10 - 15 minutes, if that, to swap it.
Good luck.

Well, that was $32 bucks and change down the drain. Put the new sensor on and the light is still lit. Guess it's time to get out the black tape unless I can find a dealer I can trust to hook up the computer to it and see what is wrong.

I DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL HELP IN YOUR SITUATION BUT MY LIGHTS WERE COMEING ON ACOUPLE OF WEEKS AGO DRIVEING ME NUTS - ONE TIME I CHANGES THE STOP LIGHT FUSE AND THEY WENT OUT - NEXT TIME DIDN'T HELP.
ANY WAY IT TURNED OUT TO BE A WIRE TOUCHING THE FRAME ON MY INBED EXTENTION FOR THE TRAILER HOOKUP- NO COST AND EASY FIX THIS TIME WISH ALL WERE THAT WAY.

My abs and brake lights in dash started coming on about 2 days ago when I backed out of my driveway, after reading several posts I think I am going to replace my brake light switch it is $11.00 dollars I'll start with the cheapest solution because I have had trouble with my brake lights staying on and having to pull up on brake pedal when I get out of the truck.
