A little more.........

So after a conversation with one of our mechanics at work I decided to check the driveline alignment after they changed the carrier bearing etc. He thought it was worth looking into.... I used a plywood straight edge I'd built for one of my rod projects. Well... sure enough the mount for the carrier bearing is off. Not even close to straight. Maybe they're not meant to be, but it sure is now. I managed to move it over all the way to the one side and got it straight. It was a movement of about 3/8" and really shouldn't have made a difference but... You guessed it, it did improve the condition. So now I'm almost happy. It's not perfect, but certainly better than it ever was before. Almost unnoticable by someone not sensitized to it. If yours isn't too bad to begin with these two adjustments just might improve yours..... It's worth a try and doesn't take very long.

Dodge Vibration

HELP!! I have a 2004 dodge diesel crew cab.

Had the 70 MPH vibration.

Dealer 1 said they road tested and did $1,000 plus work on truck.. Bearings, joints etd. Then road tested afterwards and says everything is fine.

NOT... vibration was still there. Since they were an out of town delaer, I couldn't do anymore with them.

Took it to purchasing dealer and complained. They road tested and then did another $1,000 work on front bearings etc. Road tested afterwards and they said it is fixed.

NOT... Vibration was still there... called them on way out of town and they said it must be a tire.

NOT.. on way home apparently the front shaft (U-Joint) failed. Shaft came out and tore many things up under truck.

10" hole in floor pan. destroyed the transfer case, took out wiring harness brake lines, fuel lines, total of over $8,000 in damages. BOTH dealers are saying that they have no responsibility. This is bull!!

I live in Western, N.Y. and now am out of a vehicle. I can't afford to fix it at this time. and now I am out of business... losing $1,000's a week. I was hauling trailers for a mfg.

Dealers are really stone-walling this saying nothing about a vibration history, and that the truck was fixed when left both dealers. Everything is documented, but they just don't care. DC doesn't care either.

If anyone has has success with the lemon law returns etc... I need a lawyers name so I can contact them. I will use them or a local lawyer to fight this but the local lawyer can use some previous works guidance. Anbody??

Lawyer

I live in Ohio and used an attorney named Mitch Luxenburg. He does many lemon law cases. We never had to go to court and dodge bought it back. His number is 216-650-1590 and lives around Cleveland, Ohio area. Good luck.

Me,my two brothers and my nephew have all bought new trucks in the last month. Two 2500s and two 3500s. All of them have this vibration except mine.

My brother told me earlier today that Dodge now has new Aluminum driveshafts instead of steel thats going to fix this.

I noticed this thread has only one post since may...Sorry if someone has covered this and I didn't read it.

My 2004.5 QC has a bit of a drone that starts at 65 and goes away at 70.

It just gets a little louder between those 2 speeds, doesn't vibrate the cab enuf to rattle anything. It's more noise than anything else and like I said goes away completely above 70 MPH.

Since most trucks seem to have what mine does I'd bet it's the stock tires. I used to have a jeep and those tires (much larger relative to the jeep than my truck tires are to the truck but both had/have deep tread) used to howl from 40-80.

JMO.

Hey sr, I'm from Mass. On the North Shore. Where did you buy your truck?

Just how bad does your truck vibrate?

DT.

I can put mine on jack stands and it does it at the same speeds. I can also put the tranny in neutral and coast down through the vibration speed on the road and it's there. That eliminates tires and engine vibes.
Exactly the same for me. At 63 it's fine, 64 starts the harmonics, and 65 feels like my ol' Shovelhead...

Same here. Went through lemon law here in Tx and actually settled before the hearing.

Harmonic sounds

I got my truck from Pride Dodge. I will never in this life time buy another vehicle from the pride auto group family they are nothing but cheats and stealers. I am so disapointed in that company and I would not recomend them to any one, I have already lost them some business I have warded off like 6 people already. But anyway enough, I lemoned my vehicle and have an 2006 that I factory build and should be receiving any day now cant wait getting impatient as this was a long process and expensive one as my attorney was not cheap but got the job done I could have waited for court but didnt want to wait any longer than I already have. My truck is going back as a buy back. I am hoping by friday I have it as I just cant take the vibration. I stuck with the Cummins that motor is just impressive.Good luck to all that are in the same situation I hope your truck gets ratified but I just couldnt take it anymore and waiting for them to come up with a fix, better chance of seeing god. Once dealer told me theres nothing else they can do that was the end for me..and I believe someone else tried different tires they said it did help some but it was still there..

i see you posted this back in 04. Did you have a different truck other than the 06 in your sig?

Does the 06 in your sig have this vibration? I would guess not since you coulnt buy a 06 in 04, but just wondering.

I now have an o6 no vibration just the feel of power. The truck that vibrated was an 03. Had a gasser for a year inbetween and hated it. I drove this 06 for about 200 miles before I bought it , the dealer thought I drove off with it. DC told me the same thing about the fix back before we settled. The fix they are talking about will not fix the vibration but will cover it up. I dont know how much it will mask it. I'm glad I didnt listen to them and followed through with my settlement. My 06 is at the dealer with the transmission cooked, the pump went out last Wed. and welded everything together. At least we know what the problem is this time and it can be fixed.

The pump in the tranney went out and everything got cooked good. New trans should be in Wed. It has only 53000 miles. Should last longer than that.
