stroked 5.9, that would be a step in the right direction, just the opposite of Ford & Chevy, a long stroke engine should make tons of torque down low, if they make it available with a 3.20-3.40 diff. ratio and a decent overdrive trans. ratio, it should pull good at around 1700-1800RPM at 70MPH, & put out some decent MPG

Boy you got that right. These trucks need torque and a decent rear gear ratio, not more screaming rpm.
