40'' Nelson ?

Found a part # [NEL86544M] 4'' in & out with a 10'' body. Is it straight through & how long is it ? Seen someone running a 40'' with the cat. This is what I want to try. Stock motor so I think the 51'' 5'' in & out would be a waste. Thoughts please.

The part # for the 40" is 86127M. It is a smaller diameter. Either 7 or8"(I forget! ) It sounds basically the same with the cat, as the 51" without. Perhaps a shade louder when you really step on it, but otherwise the same. Hope this helps!

Well thanks, BUT I can't find a match for 86127M on the Ryder page.

I bought it at Cummins Alberta. They brought it in on their Fleetguard order. If you have a Cummins dealer near you, you can order it there.

That number is "up to date", as I just had it installed last month.

The Donaldson M085171 is also a 40" straight thru 4" muffler with a 8.5 inch diameter. Ryder has it for 58.60 special order. Mine was delivered in less than a week.

You show a 51" in your gallery, did you change it to a 40"?
If so, how come?

The 51" was on the 03, which did not have a cat. The 40" is on the 05. which does have a cat.

Turboted did the hangers come with the muffler or did you make your own?

They sound about the same, because the 05 has the cat. The 40" is a bit louder under heavy acceleration, but not an unbearable drone type sound. I had it installed at a muffler shop, and they weld the hangers on.
