I have 05 and straight piped it sounds good around town but interstate the drone is terrible. Everyone talks about Nelson 51" and Donaldson 51" and was wondering if it would fit on 05 with the cat on. I just don't want to order it and it not fit. I just need something to cut out that dreadful drone and sound better than stock? First post thanks for th help.

 

Im not sure if it will fit or not because i have the 03, you can always let the kitty run away though... also from what ive read before (because im interested in the 51" nelson) is that its not quite as loud just gives it a good tone... if you like the sound of straight pipe but want the drone to go away maybe you would like the 31" nelson or donaldson (somewhere around 31"...???) that should most likely fit with the kitty on the truck... just some thought...

 

I put a Nelson 51" on my 04.5 long bed with the cat in place. I do not have any drone, but it does make a little more noise when I get into it. The first muffler shop I went to did not want to touch it, because they did not sell me the muffler. I went to another shop and they were very nice about it and did a very good job of changing it out for me and only charged $30. The Nelson does hang down a little in the front, but I painted it with high tempiture black paint so it is not very noticable.

 

IS THE 51" NELSON YOU INSTALLED A STRAIGHT THROUGH MUFFLER OR DOES IT HAVE A BAFFLE IN IT

 

It is a straight through with no baffles.
