3rd tc in a year

what the f gives. have 03 3500 with 220k. put bullydog dog in last year, drove conservativly, and wrecked tc, and everything else in tranyy except gears. truck ran good for 4 mths, put bullydog back in and same thing. ran good another 4 mths and bought 35s and a superchip. tc screwed again!!! cant these trucks handle these downloaders? dont drive the truck very hard. had tran temp gauage installed and watched it really close. tc lasted less than a week. should the tranny temp not climbed? luckily still have warranty on tranny. cant wait to be there in the am to see their faces again. guess no more downloaders? should i get better tc installed. truck just seems to lack power. any suggestions other than running stock. thanks

Yes you need to upgrade. Your stock transmission is not up to the task of adding 100+ hp and hold up to any severe playing. Our stock torque converters are not very efficient anyway and do not allow you to put all of that power to the ground until it locks up around 50-55mph.

If you want to play, you gotta pay. Upgrade that transmission to something that can handle the extra ponies. (DTT, Goerends, HTS, Suncoast, etc.) At least a tq converter and a valve body.

That said, I still have a stock transmission and im dynoing at 466 hp with a Smarty Downloader. But I don't abuse my truck and I only use the power hard when my tq converter is already locked on the highway. I am saving my money for a transmission upgrade as soon as I can.

temp gauage sensor is where on the side of the trasmission fluid pan. think that is what you would call it? not mechanically edumcated. what will these upgrades cost? DTT torque converter valve body?
