2ND gear syncro, engine misfiring, whats goin on with my truck??
i was coming back on a thousand mile trip this weekend and about half way through the trip, my truck started mis firing about once or twice every fifty miles. no idea what is going on with that, also feels like it lost some power. the last two hundred miles i pulled over to get some coffee, and got back on the road. ever since i put that southbend in it its been real hard to get into first and reverse, if i leave it running when i stop for fuel or coffee in this case. i finally got it into first and when i went to second, it grinded real bad. never done this before. so now every time i try to go into second it grinds real bad, kinda like the clutch isnt workin right, or the syncro is not lettin it go into gear smooth. once its in second, it stays there like it is supposed to. im lost on both these probems. if anyone knows what is goin on please let me know

Sounds like the clutch may not be disengaging completely. Could be anything from a faulty installation (bent disc), worn pilot bearing not replaced, or simply worn out hydraulics.

i put the clutch in, had the flywheel resurfaced, new pilot and throughout bearing. i had wondered about the hydraulics. something just doesnt feel right about the clutch from day one. it rattled real bad untill it got broke in, and then that got better, but it has always been real hard to get in and out of gear when i stop and leave it runnin. i think for 700 bucks is should work better than it does
