2007 Mega Cab with 5.9 - opinions!
I've had some 20 dodges, new and used, gas and diesels,my first a new 1974, my latest a 2005 diesel used, I would have to say the 2001 quad, short box was the best, once the lift pump problem solved. Better seats, interior, frame, steel, paint.. After all these years I will now look at a chev. for my next truck, sorry dodge, you had me all those years, but the 2005 was the last straw junk... Pete
Hmmm... some encouragement and some scary stuff. But I know I can't stay in my 2000 forever.
I met today with the interested buyer for my 2000 diesel and we shook on a price. So it looks like I've voluntarilly stepped onto a slippery slope, and am sliding straight into a 2007 mega cab diesel.
I'm sure I will miss my 2000 cummins, just like I missed my '01 with the 5.2 gas (sidebar... I missed the gas truck for about 1 tank full, then I fell in love with the cummins!) With any luck the mega will treat me as well as my 2000 and it will feel like "old faithful" soon enough.

Baron, good luck withthe megacab! I'm looking to upgrade to a 3rd gen too, I love my 02 but like what you said, I can't stay in mine forever either.
I lament not having the MegaCab since I bought ours for pulling the t/t and taking the kids while they're still young but it won't be an issue much longer.
Either way I think you got the right one - an '07 5.9L

You will like the newer truck. The auto is a 4spd tho. I like my 01' it rolled over 231,000 the other day and I plan on keeping it much longer espcially since it is paid for. Good luck with the new truck!
