I was looking at a few trucks and was told the 2006 dodge cummins mega cab was a change in suspension for that year . Is this correct ?
Good or Bad ?

what change is what I would like to know. 03-09 are the same, 2010-newer they made slight changes.

 

I was told they did something with the coil over suspension and also possibly frame bracing ?

 

they have been coil suspension for years.

 

they made major changes in the 1/2 ton trucks a couple years ago with coil over rear suspension but the diesel have not changed

That person could've been referring to the 1500 mega cabs. Since 02, 1500s have had IFS. When they brought out the 1500 mega cab, the suspension resembles a 2500. I'm actually not sure what the difference is. I've been tricked several times by the ones rolling around here.

 

and if you look close, the 1500 megacabs have 8 lug wheels

 

I know, that's what always gets me! They de-badge them then trick me into the cummins wave

 

ya but the true cummins wave includes a black cloud of smoke

 

1500 mega cabs have same frame, suspension (except lighter rated springs front and rear) front axle. rear axle is only aam 10.5 instead of 11.5 like 3/4 and one tons. everything else is same
