2004.5 has a cat converter on the stock exhaust and the 600tq motor. 2004 would have the 305hp/555tq motor and no cat converter on the stock exhaust.

look for the sticker, not many people change that, never ehard of one gettin changed, exhaust systems don't tend to stay stock for long around here, and lots of cats run away.

The build date inside the driver side door is after 1 Jan 2004.

Thanks guys.
The reason I asked is because, I found an 04 the other day(totally stock). The build date was AUG 2003. I figure that it was an 04 and not 04.5.

Now from what I've heard, the 04 get the best fuel mileage. Any input you have, would be welcome.

I'm happy with my 04......look and see if the LP has been retrofitted to the in tank newer version. I'm getting 22.7+ in town with my new tranny.....hand calculated.

Nothing wrong with a pampered 04. I got the 04.5 because that is what the dealer had when I made my deal. I am sure I would have been just as happy with the 04.

the spray angle of the injectors is changed as well as the bowl shape on the piston. the bowl is much wider than that of the 03-04. this allows for a longer injection event which means more fuel in the cylinder.
