2003 Ram 3500 intermittent shut downs
Well a new problem or are they connected ? My truck will start cold in under 3 seconds , but then warmed up it takes lots of cranking to get it started. Usualy will start in 45 - 60 seconds of intermitient cranking.Any ideas if This is could be new problem or a related problem to the shut downs ? I did pull the line to the presure relief valve and it doesn`t seem to be leaking. Any ideas would be super.I hate to say it but A durasmack is looking apealing about now.84000 miles and no reliability.
It was about 40mph always after a small grade and when you let off throttle and then get back on it slowly. The truck is an automatic transmission and it doesn`t seem to make a difference what gear. At idle it seems to be in the 5000 psi range. At present the time I`m trying the blockoff bolt on the presure relief valve. So far it has started fair but haven`t tried driving it yet. Thanks any ideas are a good start.
My truck is the 250 h.p. motor. From everything I have read it sounds like the relief valve. So far it has started since blocking it off , but not like it used to. Its still taking up to 3-4 seconds to start.
I removed the bolt from the presure relief valve. The truck is still very hard to start warm. It didnt seem to matter with or without the relief valve blocked. So whats next I`m thinking injector issue or cp3 pump ? Any input would be great Thanks.
Just an up date I had the truck to the dealer and they retorqued the fuel tubes and replaced a fuel line. So far so good. They said if the issues return looks like a high return on the injectors.
