is the 2003 5speed HO for sure?

I found a truck that suits me except it is a 5 speed vs my preferred 6 speed. Am I guaranteed it will be the HO motor? it is a 2003 its in oklahoma , Im in California so I need to be sure. Thanks

Wrong.. the 5 speed is a standard output for sure the HO only came out with a 6 speed until midyear then a 48re auto was offered

I agree, all 5 speeds were SO, either 235 CARB or 250 EPA

I have the 03 HO 6 speed - back in 03 (until mid year) and the few years before you could not get a HO with ANY other tranny than the 6 speed, so be careful what somebody tries to "sell" you

I know you are not physicaly where you can look at the truck, but if your seller will look at the sticker on the driver's side of the valve cover and tell you the hp/torque printed there, you will know. The HO is 305/555. Perhaps some list member who is in the area where the truck is located would volunteer to go check it out.
