NO WAY, I'm running a big line kit from the tank to a smaller 10mic filter(not the stock assem), then to the pump, then the psi reg, then the big 2mic, then all the way to the CP3 all w/ big fuel line. Took the stock assembly off the truck where it belongs.

Here is a link to Glacier Diesel Power (GDP) and their 2-micron system, which is mounted between the stock 10-micron filter and the CP3. It also comes with a "big line" kit to cut down on the restriction to the CP3. Nice set-up and reasonably priced. Check it out!

IMO, it's OK to put an auxillary lift pump outside along the frame rail, but any fuel filters are much better off inside the engine compartment to take advantage of the "under hood" heat and prevent cold weather fuel gelling. If you keep your truck plugged in a night it stays pretty toasty under the hood.

I'm using a 5 micron Baldwin #PF7977 in the OEM fuel fitlter and a 4 micron Baldwin #BF1212, on the frame rail looking to get a 2 micron on the frame rail.

I just built my Walbro with an Aero. regulator. I used the 24 micron prefilter, then 2 mic fleetguard, then the Walbro pump, then the regulator, then to the fuel bowl, then big line to the CP3. I haven't pulled the OEM filter out yet but will. These after market pumps are designed to suck through filters not push through them. That's just what Rich at GDP told me to do when I built my system. I've got it turned up to 39 PSI to work with my Commander. So far, no problems what so ever. As far as water/sep., I have no clue. Richard told me it was a hinderance of power. I'd call GDP. That man makes a living building this stuff.

No, if you saw this set up you'd see why. Also, if you saw what I find in the filters when I cut them apart(water and a little more water). If I didn't change my filters regularly I'd be worried. THese extra long 2mic filters seem to trap water very well.

I agree, BUT it's a PIA to fit an easily accessable 2mic setup between the stocker and the cp3. Even worse on my 03 w/ the throttle assembly under the intake elbow. Plus I trust my setup not leaking before I'd trust the stock assembly(no matter what head you have) w/ 50psi.

I added a Raycor 4120R Fuel Filter assembly to both my trucks with a R120S Fuel / Water Seperator "Spin-On" all-in-on. The filter is 2 micron which is identified by the "S" suffix. Raycor has 2, 10, & 30 micron filters (with water seperators incl.). It has a see-through drain bowl on the bottom and a primer pump and port at the top of the assembly. Works awesome ! Mine also has a heater element built-in.
Hope this helps !
