100,000 mile warranty

Cummins comes with a 100,000 mile warranty. Does it matter how old it is or how many owners had the truck? Is there a phone number I can call about warranty information?

I believe the 03 and up trucks have a 5 year limit on the 100,000 mile warranty, whichever comes first. It shouldnt matter how many people owned the truck.

If you want true warranty information you're better off reading the warranty yourself: Warranty Information Booklets.

I spoke with a service rep at Cummins Cal Pacific in Ventura, CA two days ago to find some info on minimum lift pump pressure specs. After talking with him for a little while the subject of Cummins warranty came up. He asked for my VIN and punched it in his computer, come to find out my 04.5 only had a two year unlimited miles warranty!!!! I said I was told when I bought the truck (used) that the truck was covered by a 100,000 mile cummins warranty. He said the "new motors" only have a two year. Can anyone confirm or deny this???

after posting my previous post, I called Cummins Cal Pacific and spoke with a guy named Roy in Irvine. I told him about the 2 year warranty I was told I had and he said that Cummins sells the engine to DC w/out a warranty, however, if you buy just the motor you can get it with a 2year unlimited mileage warranty. He went on to say that the Cummins 100,000 mile warranty was offered to us by DC and only available through DC. This was news to me. I was under the impression that the warranty of the Motor and drivetrain was straight from Cummins not DC. That sucks in a way, cause DC are ***holes when it comes to warranty work!! Anyway many of you may have already known this, but wanted to share.

This off the cuff

The cummins dealer parts man said: Dodge insisted on handling the engine warranty during the 70,000/7 year period and after that cummins would take over the warranty to 100,000 miles. He also told me which Dodge dealership had a genuine Cummins mechanics, there was only one in the Oklahoma City area.
The cummins dealeship in my area welcomes Dodge diesels owners and even gves a quantity discount on all filters, antifreeze and oil. They have also been a reliable source of advice. They'll even express ship parts if you break down out of town.

Good to know... we bought our '06 Dodge RAM 2500 5.9 CTD (as a left over) at the end of July. Dealer initially told us we had the new unlimited lifetime drive train warranty. Later back pedeled and told us it did not apply to diesels.. We were then told that Cummins warranty was good for 70,000/7 years. Decided to buy anyway since we got it at a very good price.

I would at least give the Dodge dealer that you plan to use a heads up on the truck and that you just got it.

I did that when I first got mine and I got a free Dodge hat sent to me+a crap load of cupons for oil changes trans flushing ect ect.
