'06 Starting Issues
Have the dealer put a scanner on the engine and watch the fuel rail pressure. The ECM won't fire injectors until the pressure is up in the rail. Check for a leaking rail pressure relief valve leaking injector connector tubes. Make sure they are torqued tight.
It could also be the fuel pressure controller on the back of the CP3 or the fuel pump supply to the CP3 or air in the lines.
My 05 engine starts right up after sitting for a few days.

The old engine started really easy and was very fuel efficient becuase of high compression, is my thought.
Does anyone know what the compression ratio is on a common rail cummins?
I can't remember what it was on my '02, can someone with an older dodge look up the ratio and post it for comparison.

They are 17.2:1 for 03 and 06
They did bump the compression back in 2001 for the 245hp engines. that's why they were so loud. Even louder than the 98.5 to 2000 vp44's
