Has anyone ever welded the K&N drain plug to the pan?

Nope, but I've never needed to... Are you having leakage problems?

Yes i have welded the drain plug. Drill the hole put the drain plug in with just the bolt and nut and weld the nut all the way around and then put the bolt and washer in works fine last along time.

No leaks, but I did have issues when i put it in, It would just give me a warm fuzzy feeling knowing it will not leak again.
