'06 Fuel Filters??????

Ok, I Gotta question... I tried to buy a fuel filter at the local Napa today( first service on the wifes truck) He looked for about 20 minutes and then tried to sell me a filter for an '03. He said it was a 10 micron. I decided not to buy it. Called the dealership and they said the filter for the '06 is a 6 micron. So, what brand, micron size, and part # is everybody using on their '06 models????..
On a good note, the service manager at the local dealership DID say that if I would purchase the filter from them, they would install it for free. The wife is taking it in Monday.

Install it for free.........thats nice, but it takes about 3 minutes if your slow. How much did the dealership want for the filter? Most buy online from Genos Garage

http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo.asp?number=FS19800E

nice people to do business with. I don't think a 6 micron exists, only 7 and 10 fit in the stock filter housing. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Only thing is, they are going to install your filter after charging you $44.50 for it.

I would suggest ordering from Geno's Garage, you can get a fuel filter and two oil filters (including shipping) for that price.

My dealer wanted $32.00 for the filter and $84.00 to install, all plus tax.
Order mine from Geno's, 10 min - all done. This also gives me an excuse to order those other little items like oil drain fittings, misc' badges etc - saves on shipping you know!!

Why did Dodge say 7mm on engines built after March 7th of 2006? What about 2006's and older built before that date? My 2006 was built July of 2005. Were there any changes to the fuel systems at that date? Kind of strange. cdru

Just talked to the wife. They charged me $20.00 for the filter (no charges for the install). And they washed the truck for free. The dealership has been great to this point. They've done everything they have said they would do and when they said they would do it.(the sale and the service) After reading some of the dealership experiences that others have had, I'm considering myself extremely fortunate.
Talked to the fellow at Napa today, he did some checking this morning and come to find out they do show a filter in their network for the CTD that is a 7 mircron, said he's never sold them before, but that he was going to order some in. Maked me wonder what filter everybody else in town with a CTD is running.Hmmmm....
